On Thursday this week I worked the new exhibition opening at Silver Eye. We opened a show titled Mother by Barbara Weissberger. In addition to being a successful artist, Weissberger is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of Pittsburgh. The gallery was packed, and a ton of people had to stand in the back rooms because we ran out of seats. On Friday, the other interns and I met with J Houston, an artist who used to be a lab member at Silver Eye up until they moved to New York a month or so ago. We met with them for coffee and discussed how they got to where they are today, and what they did after they graduated from CMU in 2018. Saturdays are my shifts as the desk attendant in the gallery. We started opening Saturdays again because we now have a show up. Nothing too eventful happened. A couple people were in and out but Saturdays are not the most exciting.
