If these images were to have a purpose, it would be this: to capture the beauty of the broken down, and to present that in a unique fashion that activates the viewer and places them inside the space.
Within this ongoing body of work, this queer artist channels feelings from her childhood. Feelings of being broken down, empty, alone, and uses that to create photographs of broken down, isolated, and empty landscapes.
This project explores the roads less traveled by in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Whether it is a covered bridge in the woods, an old, rusty oil barrel on a riverside, or two towering phone towers in a barren field, the artist wants this project to poke at one’s mind, and to pull at the emotional strings of the viewers, making them wonder about the hidden feelings inside of themselves that they have yet to uncover.
